A number of us in this haiku blog world were recently featured in the World Haiku Review. As many of you know, our friend Bill announced in his blog yesterday that one of my haiku was selected as a joint winner of the Grand Best for the Fall issue (2007/Jan). Thank you Bill.
This issue of the WHR can be accessed here:

The haiku selected was my haiku #281:
revealing itself
upon a banana leaf,
october wind
I wrote this in October, 2005 when my wife and I were on vacation in Trinidad. One morning I observed the wind on a banana leaf and immediately put "pen to paper".
Congratulations to Bill, Polona, and others who were also featured in this issue of WHR.
By the way, "tanemaki koishi" listed beside my name was my original haiku pen-name.
Congratulations Tanemaki Koishi!
ReplyDeleteWay to go! I didn't know about that.
ReplyDeleteyu keep getting better and better.

ReplyDeleteThank you everyone, your encouragement is encouraging.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Vaughn! I love bananas. To pick one from a tree is one of my 'secret' desires. You were pretty close!:)
ReplyDeleteBorut: Thanks. Yes I was close. Although I didn't pick them from the tree on this occasion, I have done so (my wife is from Trinidad and we've been there numerous times).
