Renhai Reflections 142: Settling Down

Settling Down

A Renhai by Vaughn Seward (vs) & Janice Seward (js)

Quiet playground —
an autumn breeze upon
the set of swings. /js

Between bicycle spokes, /vs
a scarlet maple leaf. /js

Caught in traffic —
switching stations to look
for better news. /vs

Vaughn, I wonder why my comments do not go through. My password is rejected each time. Perhaps, I forgot both my username and my password. :( It looks like I can post only as an anonymous. My Facebook is acting even worse. It simply froze. As I said at your renhai forum, I enjoyed your renhai written with your wife. I especially enjoyed the first and the second verses.

I shall be gone for a short trip to Alabama for a literarty conference. Zhanna

The last two lines are a mirror of our times. We blame the messenger ...

What I really do like in this renhai is the sound of it. The s in line 2/3 (as a pair), 4/5, and 7/8 desribe the noise of tv or radio, when nothing is broadcasted.

Good one!

Best wishes
Ralf

Nice information, many thanks to the author. It is incomprehensible to me now, but in general, the usefulness and significance is overwhelming. Thanks again and good luck!!!
