earth's footprint creeps across the face... lunar eclipse
Link with 922: Shadow.
[A lunar eclipse occurs at full Moon but only if the Moon passes through some portion of the Earth's shadow. There are usually two or three of them each year and most people either observe only a few in their life or none at all. I probably would be in the "none at all" category except that at University I took an astronomy course and, of course, that year we were on the look out the lunar eclipses.]
in 2001 there was a total solar eclipse visible from the eastern part of slovenia. in ljubljana a tiny section of the sun remained uncovered but the sight was still spectacular. there was partial eclipse last spring, too. and i have seen a few lunar eclipses, the last one when i was on holiday in september (even posted a haiku about it)
Polona: Thanks. There was a total eclipse here when I was little boy. I don't remember too much about that event. But we've had a couple of partials here since and everyone got out welder's shields and such. As for your haiku about a lunar eclipse, I now recall that you did that. :-)
I just looked at them 2004 was the full moon eclipse
The pictures are recognizable We set the tripod up and the hubby went out about every 5 minutes and snapped a shot. A few turned out. The mooon has a very red/orange glow
From "The Haiku Anthology" I became interested in Haiku and I have since written numerous haiku, senyru, and tanka. "Masago", my haiku pen-name, means "grain(s) of sand" in Japanese. I have recently started learning Esperanto and Japanese. A few years ago I developed a new eastern verse form which we now call 'Renhai'.
