Link with 1045: Fire.

[A coronal mass ejection is an explosion in the sun resulting in the ejection of huge quantities of plasma which are composed of highly energetic particles. They stream out from the Sun and sometimes strike the earth where it creates the Northern and Southern lights. As is well known, this can interfere with satellites in orbit, and in severe cases, can even knock out electricity supplies.]

Polona: Yes, I leave no stone or star unturned in the pursuit of searching for haiku (many times they find me). :-)

Pat: *Big Smile* Yeah, you don't want to get on its bad side in the morning. :-)

my TO DO list has a trip as far north as possible to hear the northern lights.

Well, thats what I've been told.. in a special solar storm the northern lights sound like snap crackle and pop.

Pamela: I've heard that too. I've seen it a lot but not heard it. Maybe it happens even farther North than here.
