[On our first camping trip in the mountains after we got married we had a frightening bear experience. That night we were abruptly awakened shortly before dawn. It was the sound of a bear putting his paws against the tent. The tent shook but it luckily held up. I instinctively yelled out a roar as loud as I could and fortunately it scared off the bear. We, however, remained anxious until we had packed up and moved on. I think that morning we had skipped making breakfast.]
From "The Haiku Anthology" I became interested in Haiku and I have since written numerous haiku, senyru, and tanka. "Masago", my haiku pen-name, means "grain(s) of sand" in Japanese. I have recently started learning Esperanto and Japanese. A few years ago I developed a new eastern verse form which we now call 'Renhai'.

nice story
i've never had anything as worrying as bears - but even inquisitive cattle can make a good alarm clock :)

john
Almost unbearable!:)
Oh, one of my biggest fears!
Floots: Me too, I wouldn't be happy waking up to the horns of a bull (or a cow for that matter).
Andrew: That's for sure.
Pamela: Right...I'm surprised my wife was able to continue on with our trip, and even to go back camping the following year.
John: It is one wake-up call I would not look forward to getting again. :-)
Borut: Ho, ho! Well done. :-)
GZ: And well-founded, every so often you hear of bear encounters that do not end so happily.
yikes! i'm sure you were happy not to become the bear's breakfast...
Polona: For sure.
I discover by chance this blog with a whole new set of possibilities to explore.
Thank you for this conviviality in sharing.
