Amidst debris against a chain link: a twenty note.

[This is a depiction of something that occurred with my Dad. He was taking my sister and me to see a train go by and on the way he spotted a twenty dollar bill amidst the litter that had blown against a nearby fence.]
Bill: Yes, perhaps...I see what you mean. Of course, it really was a $20 bill my Dad found. And that would definitely be a flash-back as we haven't had one-dollar bills here in Canada since 1989 (they were replaced by "looney" coins). :-)
From "The Haiku Anthology" I became interested in Haiku and I have since written numerous haiku, senyru, and tanka. "Masago", my haiku pen-name, means "grain(s) of sand" in Japanese. I have recently started learning Esperanto and Japanese. A few years ago I developed a new eastern verse form which we now call 'Renhai'.

Always a treasure of some kind in any debris.
sometimes it's worth looking into debris...
Pat: One need only look.
Polona: Right (but not get caught?). ;-)
That was A LOT of money when you were a kid

i could use a few such moments about now :)
Pamela: It sure was. I think my Dad gave it to my Mom, she probably used it for groceries.
Floots: I hear ya!
Vaughn, somehow I feel "dollar bill" might have more resonance than "note."
