From "The Haiku Anthology" I became interested in Haiku and I have since written numerous haiku, senyru, and tanka. "Masago", my haiku pen-name, means "grain(s) of sand" in Japanese. I have recently started learning Esperanto and Japanese. A few years ago I developed a new eastern verse form which we now call 'Renhai'.

1067. Without Tent
Lakeside beach -
we count stars from within
our sleeping bags.
Link with 1066: Tent / No tent.
[I haven't done this often but I did try it a few times as a lad. The experience is quite invigorating, especially in bear country.]
Nice image. I should think I would like to lay under the stars and take them all in.
If I still had my dog, I would sleep outside in the hammock on a starry night. I quit doing that when he died. I don't like to be alone out there.
no bears, tho
i've got out of the habit
this reminded me of what i'm missing
thank you
this makes me want to go camping -- haven't done that in years.
like it a lot

Quite archetypal too!?:) Our total awareness, asleep in the body, can only reach to the stars - but, i supppose, not beyond!?:)
oh, that must have been a nice experience!
Inside: Thanks, I'm with you. :-)
Pamela: Sorry about your dog ...and no bears you know of. :-)
Floots: My pleasure. If you do it again, please tell us about it.
Andrew: I'm starting to get the itch too.
John: Thanks.
Borut: Yes, but maybe in our imaginations?
Polona: Yes, we did it several times (and even in bear country).
...reminded me of when we were young & newlyweds & the world was ours
Hazel: Thanks for dropping by, and sharing those memories.
