Yeah that would've been a bummer. Mine was so glad to have us out of the house, she wouldn't dare disturb peace and quiet. You do have a way of evoking instant recognition in us.
My grandma was in charge of me, and she had one hell of a time trying to find me in time to send me to school. Once, my dog disappeared in a foxhole, and didn’t seem to want to come out again. He was a bit foxy himself! And it was time to go to school…!:)
Floots: :-) You obviously learned an instrument later though. Maybe it was Mrs. Floots who called you in.
Pat: *LOL* I think I am getting a clear picture of your early family life. :-) Thanks for your kind comments.
Borut: You and your dog, what a pair. I take it there were places other than school you'd rather be. I was always good for getting to school, but they had a hard time getting me to come in from playing in the evening. :-)
Polona: Perhaps you were busy taking pictures and writing haiku. ;-)
From "The Haiku Anthology" I became interested in Haiku and I have since written numerous haiku, senyru, and tanka. "Masago", my haiku pen-name, means "grain(s) of sand" in Japanese. I have recently started learning Esperanto and Japanese. A few years ago I developed a new eastern verse form which we now call 'Renhai'.

Playing outside...
Mom calls, "Come in
for piano practice.

[Just when the playing got going good, it seemed as though something or someone would come along and interrupt the fun. :-)]
Oh, this brings back so many memories!! I hated that, but I'm so glad she made me. :)
i was never made to learn an instrument as a kid
(and regret it it)
but - if i had been i'd have felt just like this
no win :)
