- From "The Haiku Anthology" I became interested in Haiku and I have since written numerous haiku, senyru, and tanka. "Masago", my haiku pen-name, means "grain(s) of sand" in Japanese. I have recently started learning Esperanto and Japanese. A few years ago I developed a new eastern verse form which we now call 'Renhai'.

[I've had this dream experience at least a couple of times in my life. The inspiration, though, for this haiku was partly inspired by the following by Iida Dakotsu:
Before my eyes
a hollyhock; on it a snake,
I wake from a nap.

My third line would be
JERK AWAKE

If a dream occurs three time, it surely is one to be considered carefully, some say!?:) A falling dream is still a dream!:)

Polona: Now that you mention it, I think I actually experienced this when having naps (like Iida's haiku).
I find it auspicious!?:) You'll 'wake up' before falling down!:) There is a book in Arabic - the precursor of Robinson Crusoe, called The Journey of the Soul. The hero's name Hayy bin Yaqzan (or something) translates as ... Son of the Awake...!?:)
Never had the falling one, but running around in my underwear several times. Sad thing is I always wake up before anyone else gets undressed.
