@ Gillena - The Spanish celebrate a long Christmas - is this reflected in Trinidad, Tobago too?
Much enjoyed verses.

Dear Janice
The meld of influences from our historical colonizers and present generations ; puts T&T in a very interesting Christmas scenario

Parang is one such icon coming out of our Spanish heritage.

Its easier though to view in terms of the secular and the sacred approaches.

You would hear on our radio stations talk of the '100 days of Christmas' and within that sphere see malls and other comercial areas lit and decorated

Then there is church; which starts its liturgical year 4 weeks before Dec 25; therefore, having a Season of Advent, preceeding the Season of Christmas, which starts on Dec 25 and ends on January 6th. There the span is from the His birth to the 3Magi finding the Christ child, having been led there by the Star

PEACE LOVE AND JOY
