Renhai Reflections: There, Here

There, Here

A Renhai by Vaughn Seward (Solo)

Saying "Hi"
to this and that friend,
spilling her popcorn.

Sparrows flit limb to limb,
flicking snow off each branch.

He changes lines,
exchanges glances with
the grocery clerk.

Flitting and flicking done right.

Like the ambiguity of the last verse - is he wanting to chat up the clerk or is he trying to find a quicker lineup...good one Vaughn.

I was wondering about that little glance, too.

Did they have a words when she weighed his broccoli with her finger on the scale...
