Some background: When I was kid I recall on a summer day it got so hot that a newspaper reporter tried the stunt of trying to cook an egg on the hot sidewalk. I don't recall if he was successful but it made an interesting story on the front page.
Andrew: Interestingly it was cooler here last week but has gotten almost unbearable here since the weekend.
From "The Haiku Anthology" I became interested in Haiku and I have since written numerous haiku, senyru, and tanka. "Masago", my haiku pen-name, means "grain(s) of sand" in Japanese. I have recently started learning Esperanto and Japanese. A few years ago I developed a new eastern verse form which we now call 'Renhai'.

glad it's not me - it's in the 70's here with rain! last week, though, I could have cooked at midnight on the sidewalk :)

John: Thanks.
Polona: No?
I've missed some wonderful haiku, Vaughn, while offline :)
I tried cooking an egg on a rock once, years ago in California - it did definitely sizzle a bit but didn't cook it enough for my taste.
Janice: Thanks. It's good to know that someone else has tried this silliness. :-)
