by Masago: Rengay #42 (Jun 15-21, 2008) Summary
The Rainbow Ahead
A hermit watches
drops splash on the surface —
koi's pond.
Out in an evening drizzle —
we stop for fish and chips.
Potato patch —
the sound of pitter-patter
on each leaf.
Sudden downpour —
colouring books opened
on the lawn.
Thunderstorm — my umbrella
opens up all too well.
A rainbow across
the road in front of us —
the storm behind.
The central theme in this rengay is "Rain". Of course rain inevitably falls from time to time but when the storm eventually dissipates, the sun comes out and is a positive force supporting us in our life's journey. The rainbow is a reminder of God's promises.

A great series. Its always good to read about the moments of wonder in a weather event that I might usually curse. I'll try to stop a take a bit more notice next time it rains (which won't be long away I'm sure!)
last night a series of thunder storms moved through the valley.
We sat on the patio for the show.
The rain was being blown into misty blankets that drenched us - even beneath the protection.
there's beauty in the rain, only if we take time to see it...
we're having a heat wave now...
Jem: I'm pleased you enjoyed the series and have a new appreciation for rain. We had quite the downpour today, in fact.
Pamela: It is such a delight to be inside observing such storms (I don't care for though, obviously, the extreme forms of them that lead to much damaging floods).
Polona: Thank you. As they say, we just need to stop and look; I know that you do so as evidenced in your own blogs on a daily basis. P.S. Our "heat wave" was yesterday. :-)
Excellent narration series...great to see you here.
Sapna: Thank you for your kind words.
I like the rainbow ending!:)
Borut: I'm with 'ya buddy!
