Rengay Through the Seasons #28 [1-3]

by Masago: Rengay #28 (Mar 9-15, 2008), Verses 1-3 (of 6)

Longer days — toys begin to emerge / from the snow.
We scour the beach for shells / and trinkets — low tide.
Past forty — each morning's combing, more forehead.

These are great. That sense of slow revelation. What was always there becoming obvious. But there is a possible negativity in each too, for me at least. The clean snow, plain sand and full head of hair hold some appeal that the revealed interrupts.
