by Masago: Rengay #51 (Aug 17-23, 2008), Verses 1-4 (of 6)
Summer's end — covered with a yellow / polka-dot bikini.
Hot-dog... a bite leads to / mustard spots on my shirt.
Somebody forgets / to bring the insect repellent — mosquito welts.
Ta-ta, ta-ta-ta... a sapsucker peppers / the birch with holes.

Or it could be the metal power pole in the front yard...
Yellow and red - hmm, must have to end with yellow perhaps...
I can hear the rhym. :)
Polka, the Slovenian national dance, and a hot-dog - a pefect lead-in into sudden realization: what you call 'a sapsucker' I used to call 'a spotted woodpecker'!?:)Learning we are!?:)
new name to me too

The end of summer is never a thought I like to entertain. You've made it more palpable and accepting.
Thanks.
you've introduced a noisy guest for the speckled effect
Janice: Not much sap there, eh. :-)
Andrew: :-)
Borut/John: They actually peck perfect little square holes and when they fill with sap a few hours later they come and suck up the sap (and any little bugs they may have stuck on).
Nick: Thank you!
Polona: *smile* Thanks!
