Renhai Reflections 128: Popped to Please

Popped to Please

A Renhai by Vaughn Seward (vs) & Zhanna P. Rader (zh.r)

A buttery scent
emanates from the kitchen —
a three-voiced "Popcorn!" /zh.r

Each popped kernel, threaded... /vs
the garland hangs on her neck. /zh.r

The lights come on —
bits of popcorn on my lap
and in the seat. /vs

Yes popped to please,

pleasing set, Masago and Zhanna :)

but, the second somehow reminded of a lady doctor here who was made to wear a garland of shoes for an operation that turned fatal!

wishes,
devika

On first sight it looks a bit like a time-journey: children shout - and then I see the beginning of a wild romance. Even the title makes me smile (and I am sure all this has got something to do with the German way of using the word "to popp" ;-). Thanks for a fine renhai.

Best wishes
Ralf

Made me smile, especially that last one - glad I'm not the only messy eater.

Apparently you can string plain popcorn onto threads and hang it in trees for the birds. I fancy trying that.
