Bingo! Give that girl a cigar! You are 100% right. I wrote this haiku from some memory that came to me not too long ago. And now that you mention it, it was in fact inspired by a scene in The Notebook...a very good movie, by the way. Well done Baxter.
From "The Haiku Anthology" I became interested in Haiku and I have since written numerous haiku, senyru, and tanka. "Masago", my haiku pen-name, means "grain(s) of sand" in Japanese. I have recently started learning Esperanto and Japanese. A few years ago I developed a new eastern verse form which we now call 'Renhai'.
