Thanks Baxter...perhaps I need to clarify this one a bit. When we were at a beach in the Caribbean we found numerous old flip-flops (i.e. beach slippers) that had washed ashore. They had no "mom" or "dad" any more and they were also separated from their mates. Some of them were also in pretty bad shape.
I am glad you clarified the flip flops (very Kiwi term that!) I thought that it may have been stranded creatures. You manage great images in few words. I've only dabbled a little in this form. Frances
From "The Haiku Anthology" I became interested in Haiku and I have since written numerous haiku, senyru, and tanka. "Masago", my haiku pen-name, means "grain(s) of sand" in Japanese. I have recently started learning Esperanto and Japanese. A few years ago I developed a new eastern verse form which we now call 'Renhai'.
