This poem was written in the "from another perspective" style. Although it can be interpreted several different ways, it was originally conceived as an anthropomorphic perspective of a "road".

Imagine what it would be like to be a road with cars running back and
forth on you all day long. Come night time the traffic dies down except for the odd insomniac out driving around...
