Link with 1022: Sudden appearance.

[When it rains worms seem to come out of nowhere and you often see them on the sidewalks and the roads. I assume it is because it gets waterlogged down there in the dirt. If I was one of them I think I'd come up for air too.]

he wouldn't last long here - the robin who rules the garden would soon turn him into a snack :)

familiar scene...
it's mostly the blackbirds that make a snack out of them here :)

Pamela: Haven't seen that many but sometimes when it rains hard and a lot do come out.

Andrew, John: Thanks.

Floots: :-) Maybe our Robins are not all here yet from their wintering in the South. :-)

Polona: Them poor little critters, hit from all sides (reminds me of what some people I know are going through). I wonder what they do when there's no sidewalk (e.g. in the middle of a field)?

There should be a worm shelter for those flooded out.

I love the earthy richness of your work, Masago. Power to the planet earth and its subterranean population!
