- From "The Haiku Anthology" I became interested in Haiku and I have since written numerous haiku, senyru, and tanka. "Masago", my haiku pen-name, means "grain(s) of sand" in Japanese. I have recently started learning Esperanto and Japanese. A few years ago I developed a new eastern verse form which we now call 'Renhai'.

I haven't eaten yet, now I'm really hungry. Needless to say it struck an instant chord with me!!
Our daughter's apartment back door looks into the back door of a Thai Rest. in Portland. We eat there everytime we go visit. When we walk in the door the owner says
"Oh, Crispy basil and chicken... welcome back!!!"
Were you in Kerala (India)?...Such a delicious feeling...
