A cleared patch
on the frozen lake —
afternoon skate.

[My Uncle had a lake-front cottage when we were kids. Once in awhile in the winter we'd go out there with our skates and have a skating party complete with refreshments and a setting sun that reminded us that the fun-filled day was coming to an end.]

I've never skated on ice -- don't think I could do it. I've cracked up both of my ankles over years and I think they would snap! :)

Not even a patch of ice around here this winter...:)

We did the same thing! It's great to have winter back this year. :)

I like very much your poem. Magical memories!

sounds like fun... and there's a deeper meaning within.

Andrew: I think you'd be okay as long as you can stay vertical on the skates. :-)

Borut: *sad face*

John: Thanks.

Pat: Thanks. Roller skating?

Aurora: I suppose we have more in common that being from the Great White North (glad you now actually have some of the Great White). :-)

Floots: I now see a deeper metaphor, perhaps the one you refer to. Thanks.

Dana-maria: Thanks.

Polona: Thanks. I wonder if your deeper interpretation is the same as Floots'.
