Not any ticket or fine, because the tire was 'lawful'. Not yet needed S+M mark on the tires over there?; we must next month. ('Snow+Mud'). I use also studded tires (plus S+M mark of course).
'Studded' is not necessary, only that S+M mark, + at least some 3 mm deep grooves...

Tikkis: I see. Here, I think studs are "illegal" as they chew up the roads too badly. Most car owners have all-season radials which seem to do the trick (I bought a new set of Michelins last year for my Toyota 4Runner).
