Link with 971: Pieces.

[The place where Dad and I had gone out to get the birch fire wood was near an Indian reservation. We were at the side of the gravel road and in the process of loading the birch logs when a beat-up 1950's car drove up. In the front were three native Indians. The one on the passenger side pointed to the back seat where a freshly shot deer had been cut up into pieces. He asked us if we would like to buy some.]

I grew up between two sections of Muckleshoot Indian reservation.
We were offered fish...often.

never a deer, tho.

Aurora: Thank you!

Pamela: Fish, eh? I think that is common down in the lower BC mainland. I don't recall the backseat being that "messy" but they hadn't bothered to put it on newspaper or anything either. :-)

John: Thanks.

Polona: Many thanks!

Very Indian, 'from their back seat'. It may even have been 'power food'..?!:)A once in a life opportunity!?:)

Borut: I'm not sure about that but when they saw us they must have thought we might provide them with an opportunity for some quick cash.
