Rengay Through the Seasons #17 [1-5]

by Masago: Rengay #17 (Dec 23-29, 2007), Verses 1-5 (of 6)

Snowy evening — a Christmas card for mailing, last year.
The party guests leave — she wins another gin.
He says he knows / the one who gave the gift — missing nametag.
Returned gamecard — the one he really wants, / is not in stock.
Hockey card collection, all but Wayne Gretzky's*.

*Wayne Gretzky, nicknamed "The Great One," is a very famous hockey player who played in the NHL during the 1980's and 1990's. He broke many records, many of which still stand today. Some say his records may never be broken.

Click here for the previous rengay in the series.

I used to love playing against the wall with our hockey card collection (the extra ones)during recess. :) I used to win the cards for my brothers.

Andrew: Cool, he was definitely amazing to watch...hockey, that is... :-)

Pamela: Bingo... yes, you get a rengay verse. Today's is dedicated to you. ;-)

Floots: I know what you mean, I have had that feeling a few times.

John: Do you mean 'pirogies'? Was that a restaurant, or were you actually at Wayne's family's home?

Middle ditch: No problem... it is explained just below the posting for this verse (see Dec 27th).

Polona: You are on the ball as usual! I'll be interested to see what two themes you have spotted. :-)

Aurora: What a kind sister (hopefully you kept them out of the mud). :-)
